Vamshi Paidipally was born in Khanapur, Adilabad. His parents own a cinema hall in Khanapur. He did his schooling in Hyderabad Public School, and his intermediate from Little flower junior college. He then, completed his bachelor’s degree in commerce and Master’s in computer applications from Osmania University. He worked as a software engineer in Hyderabad.

Vamshi Paidipally began his movie career by working as an assistant director for the movie Eeshwar. He made his directorial debut with the movie Munna, it was an average movie at the box office. He later directed Brindavanam which was a commercial success. Followed by Yevadu. His 2016 movie Oopiri an adaptation of the french movie the intouchables and it was a commercial success. Later he collaborated with Mahesh Babu for Maharshi. The film won National Film Award for Best Popular Film.
