He was brought up in Chennai and he completed his schooling at Sri Ramakrishna Mission School in T.Nagar and then he completed a degree in Communications. Rao Ramesh began his career as an assistant at K.S.Prakasa Rao then made his debut in acting in a Television Series which is directed by Ghantasala Ratna Kumar but the production was shelved. Then he went back to Chennai and worked in Pavithra Bandham and Kalavari Kodalu serials. After that, he made his debut in Telugu Film Industry with the movie Seema Simham.
